Perspective influenced reality

As I progress in life it always amazes me how I may strongly feel about something but once my position changes how my view of a same situation can change so drastically. Sometimes I look back and I’m thankful for how I handled things from original view. Sometimes a little guilt and desire I had done better. Have you ever done something to someone else, said sorry and wondered why it was such a big deal to then later have someone do same thing to you and while you tried to be understanding have such a hard time getting over it??? I know when I recently moved into management I became exposed to a lot of things I never noticed were happening around me. As every day problems arise and I scurry for answers find frustration in lack of communication from others. Due to life experiences I tried to always over communicate but as I see people get annoyed by being pestered I realize all the buzz from above wanting to know what’s going on!

I can think of times I have been under a lot of stress and not managed it well. Possibly yelled, said something ugly or reacted out of character. One time in mind as I write is a time that our relationship was stressed. I was managing trying to get promoted, managing long work rotations out of country, decline of income due to infection while overseas, a partner that wasn’t working, abusing alcohol and leaving me with no time to just feel ok. I was short with you and hurt your feelings causing you not to speak to me. My heavy heart and load grew larger. I was at a point in life where I was giving everything I had, drowning and feeling alone. None of it was your fault and many times in life I too have turned my back the exact same way. While people may handle life differently many may have not handled things the way they wished they could have. I know it crosses my mind a lot. Wondering if you were in same situation how might you have handled. Would you have viewed differently? Is it purely due to becoming a teenager?  I won’t ever have answers to the questions but admit these thoughts do make me reflect when I interact with others.

We will never be perfect in life but hopefully we learn and grow from our mistakes. I love you and no matter your choices hope they are the best for you and you live a life with few regrets. Your an amazing being.
